HOTEL POLICY/HOUSE RULES
We strive to provide our guests with a clean, safe, and friendly hotel experience. Hotel Policy/House Rules are based on industry standards, management, and operational procedures. These hotel policies/House Rules are part of our reservation agreement with you. As our hotel guest, you agree to abide by all our Hotel Policy/House Rules, terms and conditions, and procedures by reading and signing your hotel registration. The Hotel Policy/House Rules are presented here to help promote our guest’s safety and enjoyment and to ensure that each guest is aware of the understanding between the SW Beach Hotel and the guest. Our Hotel Policy/House Rules may change occasionally, so please check back often.
SMOKE FREE HOTEL
SW Beach Hotel is 100% Smoke-Free inside all units, corridors, and interior atrium. For safety and assure that our facility is not exposed to items or actions that create an odor that is unhealthy and objectionable to our guests and staff and that is difficult to remove from the air, carpet, walls, and furniture, we do not permit smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, vaping, a cartridge containing the liquid of nicotine, hookahs, incense, cigars, candle burning, the use or diffusing of patchouli oil or other vigorous smelling plant-based essentials oils or synthetic products in our facility.
Guests are encouraged to immediately notify via email or text if they smell cigarettes, marijuana, or objectionable odors. This policy is not intended to stop people from smoking but to regulate where they smoke, and it affects others. A designated smoking area is provided outside the rooftop, away from the interior of the building. Marijuana is always prohibited.
We kindly request that our guests refrain from bringing pets into the hotel premises, as we strive to maintain a serene and allergen-free environment for all our visitors. While we understand the deep bond between humans and their furry companions, this policy ensures a comfortable stay for those with allergies or sensitivities. We are committed to providing a clean and welcoming space for all guests to enjoy. If you're traveling with a pet, we'd be more than happy to provide you with information about nearby pet-friendly accommodations and facilities.
CANDLE, INCENSE, AND ESSENTIAL OILS:
Candles, incense, and essential oils (diffusing, vaporizing, etc.) are prohibited. These items and activities will be treated as smoking, a fine accessed, and the guest may be evicted without refunds.
COOKING APPLIANCES, COMBUSTIBLES, OR FIREWORKS
The safety of our guests, staff, and facility is essential to us. Except for the microwave and refrigerator in all units, six units in the hotel provide a kitchenette for preparing food with low heat and oils. A minimum of $300.00 will be charged for burning or frying in the room, including but not limited to the coffee makers, toaster, combustible, open flame, barbecue grill, burners, heating appliances, or any other item intended for cooking. Open fires, flames, cooking grills, charcoal or gas, and fireworks are not allowed anywhere on hotel property.
All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card. Guest must be 18 years and older. We accept Visa, Master Card, and American Express. Your credit card guarantees your reservations. Please ensure you receive a reservation confirmation number when you make the reservation. Reservations must be canceled forty-eight (48 hours), hotel time before your arrival date, to avoid (1) day room night charge, plus tax cancellation fee. Reservations will be held until 11:00 am following your scheduled arrival date. If you have not checked in by then, a NO-SHOW charge of one room night, plus tax, will be charged to your credit card, and the balance of your reservations will be canceled. SW Beach Hotel is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, or schedule changes. You have 48 hours before arrival to cancel with no penalties or charges.
CHECK-IN TIME: 4:00 pm.
EARLY CHECK-IN/PRE REGISTRATION:
Early check-in is offered based on availability. Pre-registration and payment may be required if you require a guaranteed check-in for arrival before 4:00 pm. Please contact the hotel directly to make reservations and complete the credit card authorization form before arrival (562) 417-3801.
Guests must be at least 18 to check in at SW Beach Hotel. In the interest of security and to prevent fraud, guests must confirm their identity by providing their valid government-issued photo identification (State driver’s license or passport, etc.) at check-in. A valid, signed, and pre-approved credit card in the name of the guest registration is also required. You are responsible for fully understanding how your bank processes pre-authorizations and charges to your credit/debit card. Some banks hold pending authorizations for up to 30 business days.
PRE-AUTHORIZATION AT CHECK-IN:
We have required pre-authorization of credit card/debit cards at check-in. A pre-authorization is a temporary hold of a specific amount of your available credit limit balance placed in your credit card/debit card for the total amount of your intended stay, plus tax. All credit cards/debit cards are pre-authorized at check-in. Pre-authorized is not a charge to your account; it holds onto those funds. Once your actual payment is posted at checkout, it can take 24 to 30 days for the original pre-authorization to be removed by your bank. Generally, the most bank handles all your transactions, including pre-authorizations. We are unable to remove pre-authorizations directly through our hotel.
We require valid contact information from the reservation guest, including first and last name, address, phone number, email, and signature. The names of all guests occupying the room must be registered.
CHECK OUT TIME:
The room rental period expires at 11:00 am. Additionally day charge, plus tax, may apply for late checkout.
Please check out on the app or via text so housekeeping may begin cleaning your room as soon as possible. If you require a later checkout, please contact us via email or text before the day of departure, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. A charge may apply for late checkout.
Guests who check out of the hotel after 11:00 am and before their scheduled departure date are subject to an early departure fee of one night plus tax.
All special requests are noted on reservations, and we will do our best to accommodate them. However, the availability of request cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Except for microwave and refrigerator units that the hotel provides, food preparation in guest rooms by any cooking type appliance is prohibited. Not all rooms have a kitchenette or microwave. We ask you refrain from microwaving any pungent food as the odor is difficult to remove from fabric. A cleaning fee may be assessed. Most commercially prepared food intended for the microwave has not previously caused a problem, so we suggest that option.

All reservations and registration must be reserved with a valid credit or debit card. We accept Visa, Master Card, and American Express. According to credit card agreements, credit cards are only valid if signed by the cardholder. It’s a cashless hotel; all payments require a credit or debit card. All guests must present a valid major credit card and government-issued photo identification. Checks and foreign currency are not accepted.
DEPOSITS AND GUARANTEES:
We require full payment to make an individual reservation. A major credit card will be required when booking to guarantee the room and secure the reservation.
RESERVATION AND PAYMENT FOR GUESTS BY PRIVATE THIRD PARTIES:
Generally, third-party payments are not permitted. In the case of paying for a family member, if you are not physically present at the hotel, we require before completion and approval of a credit card authorization, including a copy of your driver’s license and the front and back of the signed credit card. You will be responsible for all damages and losses. We reserve the right to refuse a reservation anytime for any reason.
Guests with GSA payment cards will be taxed or exempt under their individual card status. If the tax-exempt status cannot be verified at check-in, you will be charged a lodging tax of 14% until verification is made.
All rates are quoted in United States Currency, plus tax. Rates may increase without notice. Rates as advertised on our website or any other promotional material are subject to change at any time and may increase or decrease at the hotel's discretion.
RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE:
SW Beach Hotel is privately owned and operated. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or State Laws. SW Beach Hotel has a zero-tolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or deny service to accommodation in our hotel or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by reasonable standards and policies established by the State of California and the owners for the operation and management of the hotel. SW Beach Hotel will refuse service or evict a guest: for refusal or failure to pay accommodations, is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance, and acts disorderly to disturb the peace of other guests. If unable to supervise their children at all times properly, seek to use the hotel for unlawful purposes, seek to bring in the hotel an unlawfully possessed firearm, or something including an explosive or hazardous or toxic substance, that is unlawful to maintain and that may be dangerous to other persons, destroys, damages, defaces, or threatens harm to hotel property or guests, cause or permits persons to exceed the maximum allowable occupancy of the room, refuses to abide by the reasonable standards or policies established by SW Beach Hotel for the operation and management of our local hotel.
10:00 pm to 9:00 am; if you become aware of a disruptive guest, please get in touch with us immediately via text or email. Televisions, voices, or other devises must always be kept at a respectful low level. You are always responsible for your visitors while at rooftop of hotel or atrium.
All visitors before 10:00 pm. Visitors must notify the front lobby via text or email upon arrival. The registered hotel guest must always accompany visitors. Visitors are not allowed to use the rooftop or atrium as registered guests. You are responsible for your visitor at all times.

SW Beach Hotel is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, or schedule changes. Reservations must be canceled forty-eight (48) hours hotel time before your arrival date to avoid a one (1) day full room cancellation fee plus tax. If reservations are canceled less than 48 hours before arrival, your credit card may be charged the full room charge plus taxes. If you stay more than (1) night, only the first night, taxes will be charged. If you cancel any reservation, you must obtain and save the cancellation number for your records.
Check-in on the scheduled arrival date for a reservation guaranteed with a credit card to avoid a No-Show fee being charged to your credit card. You will only be charged the first night, one (1) night full room rate plus taxes, and the balance of your reservation will be canceled.
Large group/Block reservations must be cancelled eight (8) weeks before the arrival date. Reservations canceled after that date may be charged one (1) full room charge plus tax for each room reserved and the balance of their reservation compensated.

We rent out our rooftop for special occasions. Guests will be notified before arrival if an event is booked during their stay. Guests will have the opportunity to cancel reservations.
DO-NOT DISTURB AND ACCESS TO ROOMS:
Daily housekeeping provides all our guests with an excellent and safe hotel experience. Our housekeeping staff will honor the “IN” door hanger once during the twelve hours, indicating that the room is occupied. The Housekeeping Staff is required to enter the room at subsequent times to clean the room, check for safety, and verify the condition of the room. Management reserves the right to enter a room with a known status of “IN” for practical purposes, such as an emergency, housekeeping, maintenance, room verification, its furnishings and mechanical equipment are intact, or to prevent a violation of our Hotel Policy/House Rules. Management reserves the right to summon law enforcement to aid and remove guest(s)/evict in the event of suspected illegal activity. The right to privacy ends when a Hotel Policy/House Rules are broken. Law enforcement will be granted immediate access to hotel property and rooms of evicted guests.
Room Occupancy requirements are based on fire code/fire safety restrictions. Standard Room maximum is (5) at 2 occupants queen size, and (1) handicap queen bed for 2 occupants, (2) small 1-bedroom suites maximum 4 occupants 1 queen bed and 1 sofa queen size bed. If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will be asked to rent another guestroom, if available, for proper accommodations or vacate the hotel.
Rooms are keyless. A code will be issued to the registered guest(s). Codes will not be given to youth under 18 at any time. Keyless access codes will be sent to you via email or text 24 hours before check-in.
Housekeeping is provided daily between 9 am and 2 pm. Housekeeping may start as early as 6:00 am during the summer season. This is a 00% NON-SMOKING hotel, including medical marihuana. Rooms are cleaned and inspected daily, and a detailed log is maintained on each room's linen. Rooms are rented to guests in appropriate condition without any prohibited odor. Housekeeping is trained and skilled in identifying the odors from prohibited items. If our investigation concludes that you have smoked in your room or brought prohibited items into our hotel, you will be charged and asked to leave without a refund.
Your comfort is essential to us. When requested, bed linen can be changed for guests staying multiple nights. Used towels are exchanged for fresh towels daily. If housekeeping cannot change the bed due to personal items left on the bed, a note will be left. Housekeeping will happily change your bed linens and make your beds daily if all personal items are removed. Please complete all requests via text or email if you have any additional questions or concerns.
LOST & FOUND:
SW Beach Hotel assumes no responsibility for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings. If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please call us immediately (562) 417-3801, and we will try to assist you in locating your lost item.
SW Beach Hotel is not responsible for any items left behind by a guest. However, any object, except for perishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure Housekeeping will be collected, logged in, and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner for up to (14) days. A reasonable effort will be made to notify the guest that an item has been found. Perishable items, underwear, and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded.
We would be happy to return your lost item(s) to you by United States Mail Service. Sorry, no UPS or Fed Ex deliveries. Your credit card will be charged packaging and postage, plus a $10.00 handling fee. A separate receipt will be mailed to you. SW Beach Hotel is not responsible for any items lost or misdirected during shipment by the United States Postal Service. Please get in touch with the USPS Customer Service Department.
Registered guests of legal age who choose to bring alcoholic beverages must consume those in their room. Alcohol is prohibited in public areas outside the hotel rooftop or atrium only. Alcohol consumed during special events served by a licensed caterer with a permit to serve/sell alcohol is restricted to those 21 years old or older (valid photo identification required). It can only be consumed at that event venue.
Bicycles are not permitted in the hotel atrium, balcony, or hallways. We assume no liability for falls, accidents, or damage to your personal belongings. You are responsible and knowledgeable enough to ride a bicycle on the beach, obeying all laws and around town. SW Beach Hotel is not liable if an accident takes place while riding a bike rented from SW Beach Hotel. You, the guest and/or your visitors assume all liability and responsibility for any damage, accident, or theft of the bicycle(s) that can occur while rented to you. If the bike is not returned, you will be charged the total price of the bicycle(s).
FIRE SAFETY POLICY
The hotel is fully equipped with smoke detectors, first safety information in the guest room notebook, and emergency evacuation plans on the door of each guest room. Please review this important information.
NO IN ROOM LOUD PARTY:
SW Beach Hotel enforces a No-In Room Party Policy to ensure we can always protect the hotel and our guests. No parties, loud disturbances and/or noise nuisance are allowed or tolerated on these premises. A polite request (warning) will be given to reduce noise in a disturbance. If our request is not followed, the guest will be asked to leave the hotel without a refund. Registered guest(s) is responsible for all persons visiting. Non-Registered visitors are only permitted until 10:00 pm; your stay will be considered a party. You will be ordered to vacate the premises without a refund and may access Guest Compensation Disturbance Fee.
FREE WI-FI ACCESS:
Access to our Wi-Fi is free for our registered guests. The hotel Wi-Fi code is subject to change without notice. Wi-Fi signals are subject to change depending on the room’s location, the status of our Wi-fi equipment, and interference from other local wireless signals. SW Beach Hotel assumes no liability for guest use.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
SW Beach Hotel does its best to ensure that all information on its website is accurate. However, no warranty, expressed or implied, is given that the information provided on this website is error-free. SW Beach Hotel does not accept liability for errors and/or omissions and reserves the right to change the information published without notice.
ILLNESS AND EPIDEMICS:
SW Beach Hotel reserves the right to refuse accommodations to a guest arriving with a contagious disease. In the case that sickness occurs during the stay, please notify us immediately via text or email. In the case of severe illness, you may be requested to receive appropriate health care from a nearby healthcare facility. During epidemics, we are entitled to employ precautionary measures within our judgment or as local authorities require. We may charge you a room fee as we deem appropriate under the circumstances.
The cleanliness of our rooms is essential to our guests. Suppose you bring any infestation into your room or onto our hotel premises. In that case, we may charge you for any and all costs and expenses, including immediate or urgent response requirements and loss of room revenue, that we deem necessary to address the infestation.
PARKING AT OWN RISK:
All Vehicles are parked at the risk of the owner at any public city parking structure or lot. SW Beach hotel has only one onsite parking spot. We highly recommend you check in arriving by taxi: public transportation or uber. Once in Hermosa Beach, everything is within walking distance. No car is needed. We offer a 10% discount for all guests that have did not bring a vehicle. Must sign the affidavit statement confirming you have arrived without a car and inform us upon check-in.
DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF HOTEL PROPERTY:
You are liable for any damage caused (whether deliberate, negligent, or reckless act) to the room (s), hotel’s premises, or property caused by you or any person in your party, whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay. SW Beach Hotel reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at registration and charge or debit the credit/debit card such amount as it shall, in its sole discretion, deem necessary to compensate to make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by SW Beach Hotel because of those above. Should these damages come to light after the guest has departed, or reserve the right and hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We will make every effort to rectify any damages internally before contracting a specialist to make the repairs and, therefore will make every effort to keep any costs the guest would incur to a minimum.
DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER THE CHECKOUT:
Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment, including removing electronic equipment, towels, artwork, etc. will be charged at 120% of the total and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each room. Any costs associated with repairs and replacement will be charged to the credit card or debit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.
DAMAGE TO MATTRESS AND BEDDING:
Damages to mattress and linen, including towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, and blankets resulting from using body oils, makeup, shoe polish, etc., will result in a charge for special cleaning, repair, or replacement of the damaged article.
DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM/FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT:
SW Beach Hotel reserves the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered with or interfered with any detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, atrium, penthouse break glass points, and fire extinguishers. Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or firefighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be asked to leave the hotel, rooftop, atrium, or penthouse. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcement will be involved at the hotel’s discretion. Should the fact that firefighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right. You authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damages incurred to your room or hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fees, cleaning fees, guest compensation, etc.
CHANGES OR MODIFICATIONS TO THE HOTEL POLICY/HOUSE RULES:
SW Beach Hotel reserves the right to amend, modify, change, cancel, vary, or add to these hotel Polices/House Rules or arrangements and content featured on our hotel website at any time without prior notice. Please check our website regularly for updates to Hotel Policy/House Rules. Any modification to these Hotel Policy/House Rules that occurs before your departure is considered a part of your reservation’s agreement with us. A copy of these Hotel Policy/House Rules is located on our website, in the guest room notebook, and available upon request via email.
SECURITY CAMERA SURVEILLANCE DISCLOSURE:
SW Beach Hotel has security cameras monitoring the property 24 hours a day. All surveillance footage/video is stored for 14 days. In the event, SW Beach Hotel or the guest or visitors need to access the video. Surveillance devices are prohibited from private spaces such as bathrooms and bedrooms, regardless of disclosure.
